Why would I drink that???

Coca-cola... I often wonder why I even CONSIDER drinking it. Last weekend we used it to clean the corosion (spelling?) off of the car battery. I have poured it down a drain to disolve a clog. How safe is it to drink???

Why I Wish ZZ Top Were My Fairy Godmothers

So this last weekend I watched ALOT of the 80 hours of 80s on VH1 classic. (this is why i cannot have this channel at my house!)

It all came to end with America's own long haired, classic car owning band, ZZ Top. I have always liked ZZ Top. They have a great sound, but I do not own any of their music.

I cannot recall that I have ever sat and watched more than one ZZ Top video at a time. But once I saw, "Gimme All Your Lovin'", "Sharp Dressed Man", and "Legs" all in a row I came to a realization... They are the losers' fairy godmothers of the 1980s.

In every video they took a less than cool person who has been beaten down by everyone they know and magically transformed them into someone cool with nothing more than a short skirt, sunglasses, heels, and lacey socks. Also... their is the posse of ZZ Top girls in the red car. I think that represents the "bibbity bobbity boo"

Her Name is Rio...

I am going to Chicago on Thursday. One of the things that we have planned for this trip is the Architectural Boat Tour. I did this tour last summer.

The whole time I kept thinking how fun it would be to act out the Rio by Duran Duran video while on this boat. The tour is NOTHING like the video, except it takes place on a boat. Its the middle of downtown Chicago on the Chicago River, not the ocean. You are between skyscrapers hearing the history of Chicago, not playing around the boat taking on a dayglow phone wearing body paint. Yet, when I am on the boat, all I can hear in my head is "Rio".

I think we have decided since it is quite warm we will be doing the evening cruise. Maybe this will make the sounds of Simon, John, Nick, Andy, & Roger to go away!!!

Why I Do NOT Watch Television in REAL Time

This morning I lost 3 hours. It was 9am... then suddenly it was NOON! Where did the time go, you ask??? I will tell you.

I lost it to random channels, VH1 and E! I got sucked into Regis & Kelly, The Price is Right, Best Celebrity Fights, Best Reality Show Fights, a little Gilmore Girls, followed by E! News.

Although I learned alot in this short time, it is stuff that I have no desire to know. I almost broke down and went to PerezHilton to read even more gossip (This is a guilty pleasure that I allow myself once every 2 weeks)

POP Goes My Heart

Erin's sister Ellen and her roommates seem to pass the time by making videos. Here is the latest installment from their apartment in Jackson... it cracks me up!!!

New Order...still touring? who knew?

I do so love the New Wave early 1980s music.

Today while glancing at youtube I came across New Order, in concert. I had no idea they were still touring. I had forgotten how much I loved New Order until watching Marie Antoinette, which by the way has an AMAZING soundtrack.

They still sound amazing. They look MUCH older, but still sound great.

Getting Organized

I HAVE to organize my life. It is summer. I have no where to be and nothing to do for the next 14 days... so I need to start putting things in their place.

The best place to start I think would be my pictures on this computer. They are dumped crazy places with no sense of order.

Next I need to work on the corner of my room that houses all my art supplies. Lets get real. I have about a million pieces of scrapbook paper. WHAT AM I EVER GOING TO DO WITH IT??? I DO NOT KNOW!!!

Summer So Far

Over the last 6 years I have had a couple of blogs, but I never seem to rememeber to write them. I get busy, I get distracted, whatever. Something always comes up. So here I am starting over AGAIN to write.

Summer is the best time of year. I love the fact that I can travel and pretty much do whatever I want most days. I enjoy the warm weather.

This summer has been super busy. May 26-28 I went to Chicago with Alison and Kris. We had a GREAT time. June 5-8 I was off to Vegas with mom, Alice, Erin, Lorrie, Glenda, Lisa, Ashlie, Liz, Susan, & Debi (the Rager girls). I had never taken a trip with my family before and we had a WONDERFUL time. June 9-14 I went to GulfPort & Destin with Jennie where we got to run into many of the super wonderful Lambuth folks. June 17-20th I had a workshop in St. Louis. I am SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO happy to be home.

Now I am beginning to ask myself "What am I going to do the rest of the summer?" Im open to any and all ideas.
